In this embodiment of the invention, the flow to the propeller is guided by a Reuleaux-triangle body. This mitigates the negative impact of the drive speed on the flow, enabling higher drive speeds than those achievable with a Voith-Schneider propeller. The invention features a rotary-wing device comprising at least one rotor module featuring rotary-wing kinematics for at least two rotor blades connected to a motor generator. These blades are subdivided into sections that receive actuators within the spar cross-sections. The asymmetrical airfoil of each rotor blade is adjustable during rotation, with two adjustment points within an adjustable range along the path of rotation. This enables the suction and pressure sides of the blades to switch from outside to inside the orbit via rotary blade kinematics, and the variable airfoil profile of the asymmetrical airfoil changes from outside to inside the path of revolution, or vice versa, by means of rotary blade kinematics. When the rotor blade is in a transitional position at the turning points, the blade profile temporarily exhibits a symmetrical orientation with the chord of the profile positioned tangentially to the orbital path. The device is designed such that, in the case of the rotary-wing vehicle, the diameter can be aligned with the turning points on the rotor module in at least one longitudinal section of the rotor blades, with the length transverse to the direction of travel. This configuration means that the suction side of the asymmetrical profile is oriented in the direction of travel for both halves of the orbital path. Consequently, a thrust force is generated in the direction of travel, derived from the lift force exerted on the asymmetrical profile. In the case of the rotary blade turbine, the device is designed so that the turning points of the rotor blade in all longitudinal sections can be aligned orthogonally to the flow. This configuration aligns the suction side of the asymmetrical airfoil with the lee side in both halves of the orbital path. Consequently, a tangential drive force is generated for the rotary blade turbine from the lift force exerted by the asymmetrical airfoil.

The invention relates to the design of hull-integrated propulsion systems for rotary-wing aircraft, wind turbines, water turbines and ship propulsion systems. The RES Ferry is a new hull-integrated propulsion system designed for vessels with a very shallow draught, making it particularly suitable for inland waterways and responsive to intermittent low water conditions. The new hull design incorporates span drop-outs at the bow and stern to allow the integration of four electrically driven rotary wing rotors, limiting the draught to between 0.7 m and approximately 1.5 m. A notable feature of the rotary wing kinematics is that the Reulaux triangle stub deflects the flow, making the rotary wing drive suitable for higher cruising speeds than those achievable with a Voith-Schneider propeller. The Reulaux triangle can be oriented with its point or its blunt side in the direction of travel. In any orbital position, the rotary wing kinematics of the two- or three-part kinematic rotor blades generate thrust that can be directed in any direction in a matter of seconds.

The propulsion system for this large container ship consists of four turbines with a new type of counter flow rotor kinematics. The electric motor of the ship's propulsion system is located inside a vessel whose outer shell is formed by a symmetrical wing stub. A flow guide in this wing stub ensures that the asymmetrical wing profiles of the rotor are impinged by a counter flow. An outlet for the flow is provided on the suction side of the blade stub. The surrounding outer shell shields the rotor from the external flow caused by the ship's cruising speed so that there is no unwanted overlap between the cruising and circulating speeds. This arrangement prevents the creation of rotational flow within the inner shell of the stub, with the negative influence of the ship's cruising speed being shielded by the rotor shell. The suction sides of the asymmetrical blades are variable and have two reversal points aligned on a diameter perpendicular to the direction of travel, which can be rotated in a circle of 360 degrees in a few seconds to turn the ship in a different direction. The container ship has a hull-integrated propulsion system, in which four propulsion units are integrated into a drive channel that extends from the bow to the stern of the ship.

This large container ship's propulsion system consists of four turbines with a new type of rotary wing kinematics for a counter-flow system. The ship's electrical engine is housed inside a vessel whose outer shell is formed by a symmetrical stub wing. A flow guide in the wing stub ensures that the rotor's asymmetrical wing profiles are impinged by a counterflow. An exit opening for the flow is provided on the suction side of the wing stub. The outer shell surrounding the wing stub shields the rotor from the external flow caused by the ship's cruising speed, preventing any undesirable overlap between the cruising and circulating speeds. This prevents rotational flow from being created within the inner shell of the stub wing and shields the negative influence of the vessel's speed of travel from the rotor shell. The suction sides of the asymmetric wing profiles have two reversing points aligned on a diameter perpendicular to the direction of travel. These points can be turned through 360 degrees in a matter of seconds to change the direction of the ship. The container ship has a hull-integrated propulsion system comprising four propulsion units integrated into a drive channel extending from the bow to the stern.

This patented system features a multitude of pod units which use swarm intelligence to manoeuvre the vessel. Tugboats are no longer needed when entering the port. The ship can manoeuvre independently. Catamaran-like underwater uplift bodies are used to store H2 fuel for fuel cells, which power the electric pods. There is much more in the pipeline. The teardrop-shaped pod itself acts as a flow guide for the two counter-rotating propellers, generating thrust in the direction of travel. Firstly, radial rotor blades generate thrust according to the recoil principle and are connected to outer ring vanes. On the other hand, the flow streaming the smaller and larger ring vanes at the rear end of the pod has a positive angle of attack. This causes a lift force at both ring vanes, resulting in thrust in the direction of travel. The smaller ring vane, positioned upstream, acts as a guide for the larger, downstream ring vane.
